Cemfree has been acquired by materials giant SigmaRoc

SigmaRoc is a quoted lime and limestone group, targeting quarried materials assets in the UK and Northern Europe.

SigmaRoc seeks to create value by purchasing assets in fragmented materials markets and extracting efficiencies through active management and by forming the assets into larger groups. It seeks to de- risk its investments through the selection of projects with strong asset backing.

Back in 2021 SigmaRoc Plc, reaffirmed its commitment to reducing the construction industry’s dependency on cement by becoming the only company to offer a cement-free ultra-low carbon alternative for every product in its precast concrete portfolio. From January 2022, every product currently manufactured by SigmaRoc’s Precast Product Group (PPG) –  Allen Concrete Ltd, CCP Building Products Ltd and Poundfield Precast Ltd – was available in a cement-free ultra-low carbon option.
